Exmouth Beach Volleyball League

The 2010 Exmouth Beach League will provide beach coaching and training, plus a beach pairs (women's & men's) league and a recreational beach fours league.

Entry Forms

Entry forms for the Pairs & Fours are now available.

When

We have permission from the beach owner (EDDC) to run a Tuesday night league programme, starting on the 4th May and finishing on the 7th September. The League will run from 7 pm until 9 pm (or Dusk), with nets up from 6:30 pm. Matches will start at 7pm prompt.

Week 1 (4th May) will be a shake down session, to get your sand legs back, take your pairs introduction lesson (if required), have some friendly matches and finish with a drink in the "Bath House".

The beach league program will start on 11th May (Week 2).

Where

On the "No Swimming Area" of Exmouth Beach, where the Exmouth Tournament is held, next to the permanent beach nets.

Courts

Each week we expect to have at least seven courts available, for Beach Pairs and for Beach Fours, a drop in / warm up net and a coaching net. We are expecting to be able to use the two permanent nets for the drop in and coaching courts.

Cost

£10 per player per league. It is anticipated that the league program will enable players to play in both the Pairs and Fours, be eligible for free coaching and will have free access to evening tournaments put on by the organisers throughout the season.

Drop in /coaching court (for non league members) is £2 per player per week.

Weather

A call will be made on the day by the "Beach League Coordinator" and if the evening session is to be cancelled, a note will be placed on the web site by 17:00.

Beach Fours Format

This will be a recreational league, self reffed, with two timed matches per evening, league points awarded per team. Teams can be made up of 4, 5, 6 players etc, sub in etc. as required, beach rules will apply.

Additional team members can join during the season, there will also be points during the season when new or additional teams can join the league as well.

Need to miss a week (team on holiday)? No problem, just let us know.

Beach Pairs Format

This will be run as a formal Men's & Women's league, two players per team, self reffed, full beach rules, points awarded per player. It would be useful if you know the rules and can use beach hand signals. See the Rules & Tips page for more information.
